Entering average will be the highest final local association average for 2009-2010 season  for 21 games or more (book average).  USBC Rule 319A-2 will apply if average on January 1, 2011 is 10 pins or more higher than previous seasons average.   If no average in this association for last season, use highest average (21 games or more) as of January 1, 2011.    All other entrants must use an average of 225.  All averages will be verified prior to the tournament.

Rules & Regulations of 2011 Annual Open Tournament

Ø  This tournament shall be conducted in accordance with USBC rules governing Local Association tournaments, in addition to rules adopted by the Greater Aurora USBC Bowling Association. 

Ø  Eligibility.  All entrants must be a current member of USBC and the Greater Aurora USBC bowling association.  A non-member living in the Greater Aurora Bowling Assn. jurisdictional area who does not have a USBC card may purchase an affiliate membership card for $20.00.

Ø  First Place Scratch and Handicap champions will be awarded USBC chevrons and individual trophies.  In case of a tie for 1^st place, trophies will be awarded to all involved in the tie with money split between the places that are tied.   All ties for other prize money will be equally divided between the places involved in the tie.

Ø  If applicable, sponsors of first place High Team champions in both scratch and handicap divisions will receive a Sponsor’s Trophy.

Ø  LANE ASSIGNMENTS:  Teams, Singles and Doubles events will be assigned lanes by the Tournament Manager starting with the center pair of lanes.  TEAM CAPTAINS MUST CHECK IN ½ HOUR BEFORE THEIR SQUAD TIME.   The tournament manager reserves the right to reassign squad times if entries received are less than 4 teams or 4 doubles and/or singles.

Ø  Teams and Doubles can be composed of all men, all women or mixed.  NOTE: Doubles will be bowled first with the Singles event to follow.

Ø  Grade and High School students under the age of eighteen (18) and are unmarried, must have written permission of a parent or guardian to enter.  See USBC Rule 13.

Ø  Bowlers are responsible for reporting their correct average to the tournament manager.  If a wrong average is reported, the correct one will be used and you may be disqualified, as per Rule #319A.  All averages will be verified prior to the start of the tournament.

Ø  Re-rating requirements of USBC Rule 319C shall apply.

Ø  Any winner who has a combined winning of $600.00 or more will be issued a 1099-misc tax form.

RESTRICTIONS IN EACH EVENT

Bowlers arriving after the start of the tournament will receive zero’s for the frames missed.

No bowlers may enter or participate more than once in the Doubles or Singles event.

Bowlers may enter and participate in the Team event under the following conditions:

1)       Only (3) members of a 5-person team that have participated in the tournament may bowl together on another 5-person team.

2)       If a bowler bowls more than once in the Team event, their first scores in the Team event shall count towards their All-Events score.

3)       No one may take over anyone else’s All-Events after the start of the tournament.

Handicap will be figured on 90% of 225.
