
HALL OF FAME CEREMONY
The Greater Aurora USBC association will continue to honor tradition placing men, women, and youth into the Greater Aurora USBC Hall of Fame. The next ceremony is planned for November 14, 2010 . Bowlers will be honored in the categories of Meritorious Service, Bowling Accomplishments, and Veteran’s. Our association will also honor a male and female “Star of Tomorrow”. Candidates who had the highest ending league averages for a male and female youth bowler, in each of the centers serviced by our association. By mid-September, league informational notices will be sent to all league secretaries with details about the upcoming ceremony.
Two large plaques are located at Parkside Lanes in Aurora identifying all past Hall of Fame members of the Aurora USBC BA and Aurora USBC WBA. A third plaque will be added, denoting the inductees of the Greater Aurora USBC Association Hall of Fame members.
The Aurora USBC Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame honored women bowlers in the categories of Meritorious Service, Outstanding Bowler, Star of Yesteryear, and Posthumous. In addition, the Aurora USBC WBA gave “special awards” to those female bowlers who had bowled for at least 40 years or more.
The Aurora USBC Bowling Association honored male bowlers in the Bowling Accomplishments, Service to the Game and Veterans categories. In addition, the Aurora USBC BA also presented a John Dolan award. This award honored the male bowler who had the highest average of the season with 66 games or more.
